Last night David (otherwise known as Mr. Rockstar) and I were talking about the music for the wedding and reception, as well as our Absolutely’s and Absolutely Not’s in regard to everything about the wedding. Since I’m handling the bulk of the wedding planning, and he’s providing input, I wanted the two of us to sit down and go over what he absolutely wanted and what absolutely did NOT want.
His absolutely not was the Macarena song, and the Electric Slide (though my daughter says that we should include that one since it is fun for all ages). I remember when the Electric Slide first came out and I was learning the dance. It used to a whole lot of fun, but now it is a bit played out.
Mr. Rockstar’s biggest thing is that our wedding is fun, pretty, interesting, and a celebration. I’ve watched wedding videos, looked at wedding pictures, etc from a variety of weddings over the past few months and the thing I’ve noticed about every single wedding is that they all look so happy. They glow with happiness.
So what if something goes wrong, or quite a few things go wrong. The closer things get to the DAY, the more I realize that as stressful as planning the wedding myself might be I’m actually glad that we’re doing it ourselves (with help from family and friends). I’m super excited about the aspects of each detail we plan coming together. I am real need of a new digital camera so I can take pictures of this stuff. (My old one is duck taped together, lol!)
So as we get closer and closer to the under 4 months to go mark I am beginning to feel
just a little stressed out since we still need to begin working on our invitations. Printing out the Michael’s coupons tonight so that I can go get the stuff we need for the invitations this weekend. We were supposed to get them the other day but it didn’t happen because the truck broke and it is now at the mechanic’s shop (we’ll be picking it back up Saturday, I think). We’ve been used car shopping. So far much of what we’ve found has either high mileage or the price is too high. We’re still looking…
