Veil or no veil, and other stuff I’m not sure about

I’ve been thinking about the veil thing the last few days. Since my dress is gunmetal grey I’ll won’t be able to just go out and buy a veil, I’d have to make it or order it or have it made. I found some silver tulle material at Walmart and at a few other places that I could use to make a veil. I’d use either a brooch comb or a tiara. I found some tutorials on Youtube  and it doesn’t look that hard to make your own veil. I’ve been looking at hair combs and tiara’s to see what I like. I really like the to the elbow veil, especially since my dress is going to be tea-length.

Now I’m looking into favors. To have them or not? Do people really expect them? Are they necessary? The past few weddings I attended had candy as a favor. So I need to do some more research regarding favors.

Programs! Since I’m getting married the beginning of September in South Carolina it is going to still be a bit warm, so I’ve considered the fan programs, which would also work as a favor (hmmmm, now that is thought), and a personalized program for the wedding party and our parents as a sort of keepsake. Still researching program ideas as well. I need some fresh ideas.

Next thing I’m really not so sure about. Rehearsal dinner. Our wedding is taking place at my parents place, which is about an hour and a half away from where most of the wedding party, the grooms parents, and where we live. Where do you have the rehearsal party? Isn’t the rehearsal dinner about rehearsing? We’re paying for the wedding ourselves and we can’t really afford to have a big rehearsal dinner…Aren’t there alternatives? I need to come up with some alternatives.

Okay, opinions and information welcome!!!!
