and with our families and with our wedding party,
and then the rain comes, and when I say rain I mean a small thunderstorm (me praying that the rain will wait just a little longer) so we don’t get any pics of us together. (We’ve decided to go somewhere and dress up, minus the veil, and have our pics taken together). Some of our family members and many of our close friends hung out under the tents during the rain, and stayed. David and the guys got out their guitars after the rain stopped and began playing and singing. We never did get to do the bouquet toss or the garter toss, which was fine with me (David really wanted to do that stuff, not me). And David practiced Edwin McCain’s song “I’ll Be” for months before the wedding so he could play it and sing it for me during the reception–it’s our song. (me crying while he sings me the song). And our friend Scott who was going to play and sing at our reception arrived late because someone caused him to blow a tire on the interstate on the way, but he played us the song he’d written for us while we had our first dance. The song was absolutely beautiful! We both got teary eyed. Scott had a friend with him who played the violin while Scott played the guitar and sang our song it was just so amazing…Another friend of ours, she was actually our officiant, held her umbrella up over us while we danced (I don’t have that pic yet). And we hung out for a while…Me listening to them sing and play, or walking around talking to family and friends. Neither of us actually got to eat the delicious barbecue that my dad and uncle made (with homemade sauce), so ended up at IHOP in Charleston after we checked into our hotel room (LOL!) The honeymoon pics are next!!!
