It only happens every once in a while, and I would say every once in a blue moon, but there wasn’t a blue moon last night, but we got snow in SC yesterday. So much so, that we ended up snowed in. We drove to Camden, SC yesterday so that a friend of ours could take a look at my mom’s computer. On our way there it was raining, but the rain looked a little weird so I say to Mr. Rockstar, “Does that rain look weird to you?” He says, “I think it’s sleet.” Then he looks at it harder, and I’m looking at it and thinking “HUH? That looks a little like snow.” He tells me, “No, I think that’s snow.” And just as he says it the snow begins to fall harder. It’s snow flurries and it’s really not sticking but it’s in the air. So, I took pictures.
Well, we arrive at our friends house, and they proceed to figure out what is wrong with the computer. They have to go to his storage unit twice to get parts, but by late that afternoon they’ve almost got it. Only it’s started snowing. And we hadn’t even realized it. We’d went outside about an hour before and though it was raining there wasn’t any snow, then an hour or so later there’s at least 3-6 inches of snow and there’s no way my car, which sits really low to the ground, is going to make through all of that, especially since we have to travel on roads with a lot of trees, curves, etc on our way home. The power goes out. Our friend and his wife are gathering candles, wood for the fireplace, etc.
Thank goodness the power didn’t go out earlier, because our friends wife had cooked the best dinner. Steak on the grill, squash and zucchini and onions stir-fried, potatoes with this awesome seasoning on them, and garlic bread, with a little bowl of fresh bell peppers and those little tomatoes (I just can’t think of the name of them right now–I hate when that happens). So Mr. Rockstar and (We’ll call our friend) Gomez go to get the wood, and once they’re back Gomez puts the wood in the fireplace, only he doesn’t open the shoot and the house gets smokey, so we have to crack the windows (after they get the shoot open) and we walk back outside to get some fresh air while the smoke goes out. LOL! Never a dull moment. We had a good laugh out of it.
Mr. Rockstar and Gomez have a snowball fight. We laugh.
We got up this morning and there was still snow everywhere but it wasn’t snowing anymore and the snow had begun to melt. I took some more pictures. We had some coffee, thanked our friends for their hospitality, thanked Gomez for fixing my mom’s computer, and his wife “Morticia” for the amazing dinner and we headed back home. It was our first snow since being together, so we were excited. When we got back to where we live–No Snow. 😦 Now I’m doing laundry, we have to go elsewhere to dry the clothes because we still don’t have a dryer or our dryer fixed. Mr. Rockstar fixed us a late breakfast, and then he fell asleep. So I’m writing, I downloaded my pics, and drinking coffee while he naps. So far, it’s been a good day 😀
