Day 18: A book you could read over and over again and never get tired of…
While looking at my posts for the 30 Day Blogging Challenge I realized I skipped over this one entirely. It was saved to drafts, but never published. I really hate when that happens. This is twice in one week now. Grrr!
What book could I read over and over again and never get tired of? It would have to be Stephen Kings The Gunslinger, from the Dark Tower series. I remember reading it in the 80’s and waiting and waiting and waiting for the rest of them to come out. Now that I own them all, as well as most of the ones that are linked to the series, I find myself often thinking about Roland and the quest for the Dark Tower. About the man in black. My daughter is a huge fan of the series as well. I bought her a Michael Whelan print a couple of years ago…he did the illustrations for the first book, as well as a few of the others in the series.
If you read the Gunslinger, then you have to continue on and read the rest of them again, so every time I pick up that book I know I’ll have an adventure. That’s what a good book does. It takes you on the ride with the character. You’re part of it. You’re right there in the story with them. That’s what his series the Dark Tower does for me. It takes me on an adventure, and I could read those books over and over again.
