Daily Prompt: Travel
If you could live a nomadic life, would you? Where would you go? How would you decide? What would life be like without a “home base”?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us TRAVEL.
My husband and I have often talked about getting a camper and traveling. If we could afford it we’d do it now. There are so many places I haven’t seen in the United States, much less elsewhere that I would like to visit. Our home base would, of course, be our home, and our mobile home base would be the camper, but to travel without a home base isn’t something I’d enjoy long term. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy going camping. Tent, sleeping bags, camping stove, fishing, etc… but that’s for a couple of days, nor more than one week. I enjoy taking a hot shower or a long bubble bath, and staying away from bugs, way too much to stay out in the “wild” for too long.
But I would love to get in a camper and travel through all 50 states. Sight-seeing. Visiting landmarks. I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, etc… I’d also like to visit things like the largest ball of twine/yarn. I think our first major place to visit would be Utah where my husband’s oldest sister lives (we’re in South Carolina and he hasn’t seen her in around 7 years). Between here and there we’d see so many places along the way. I’d take my camera (of course) and take as many pictures as possible.
As a truck driver my husband has been through a lot of places in the US but he hasn’t been able to visit them. So this would be a whole new experience for both of us. Hell, I wouldn’t mind going out on the road with him and taking my camera.
